about
Hi! I’m Alison Ashton.
I create content audiences crave.
Is there anything more fun than that? I don’t think so!
I’ve spent my career developing audience-focused lifestyle content that surprises, inspires, engages, and informs.
Twenty years ago, I joined Cooking Light – then the largest-circulation food magazine in the world – as their Senior Food Editor and pivoted to focus on food content. There, I worked with a top-notch team of editors, contributors, test kitchen staff, and designers to develop mouthwatering, award-winning features, recipes, and images.
Nothing excited me more than when a reader told me, “I made this recipe and my family loved it!”
When I returned to my home turf of Southern California, I dove deeper into creating food content. I even got a Culinary Arts Diploma from Le Cordon Bleu in Los Angeles to sharpen my knowledge and skills about ingredients and techniques.
In 2008, I founded Content Kitchen to produce food-focused content for national digital and print outlets, including PARADE Magazine, EatingWell, and Cooking Light. I also develop custom recipes and images for brands, including Nourish Evolution, La Tortilla Factory, Natural Habitats, and Palm Done Right. Clients come to me for my fresh, seasonal approach to recipes and images.
Let’s talk about how I can help bring your customers to the table and dig into your brand.
